Brief Biography
Dr. Murya Saad Habbash has served as a Member of the CMA Board since 2025. He holds a PhD in Financial Accounting from the University of Durham, UK, and a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham. He holds the Saudi Fellowship for Certified Public Accountants SOCPA, in addition to several diplomas and certifications in governance, risk management, and sustainability.
He served as a faculty member in the Department of Accounting at King Khalid University. He also worked as a governance advisor at the Governance Center in PIF and the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, and served as Chairman of the Saudi Governance Association. He also served on the boards and committees of several companies and previously worked as an external auditor. He currently chairs the Audit Committee and the Scientific Committee at the CMA.
